FAQs of 575P PP
1. Is SABIC PP 575P suitable for food contact?
Yes, SABIC PP 575P complies with food contact regulations, making it safe for use in food containers, caps, and kitchenware. Always verify regional standards (e.g., FDA, EU) for your specific application.
2. Can PP 575P be used for outdoor applications?
PP 575P does not contain UV stabilizers. For outdoor use, it should be compounded with UV stabilizers to prevent degradation from sunlight exposure.
3. Sabic 575P VS 5705P
The two grades share identical density, both coming in at 0.905 g/cm³. And they have similar impact resistance and high surface gloss levels, ensuring equivalent aesthetic performance for parts where appearance matters. They also feature a broad molecular weight distribution, which contributes to consistent processing stability across both grades, making them reliable for high-volume production.
The key differences lie in melt flow rate (MFR) and flexural modulus. SABIC PP 575P has an MFR of 11 g/10 min, while SABIC PP 5705P has a higher MFR of 15 g/10 min. This means 5705P offers faster flow, allowing for quicker filling of molds, especially for complex or thin-wall parts. In terms of stiffness, PP 5705P has a slightly higher flexural modulus (approximately 1650 MPa) compared to 575P’s 1600 MPa, giving it a small edge in rigidity for structural applications.
