Exceed™ 1018 series is a high-performance ethylene-1-hexene copolymer mPE (metallocene linear low-density polyethylene) developed by ExxonMobil using advanced single-active-center metallocene catalysis technology. It is a classic, general-purpose, high-end raw material in the film processing fields. This series of mPEs is widely applicable to blown film and cast film production in various scenarios, including food packaging, industrial packaging, agricultural films, and composite films, making it one of the core preferred materials for lightweight and high-end film production.    

Comparison of the various models in this series

The Exceed™ 1018 series maintains stable basic physical properties. All resins have a melt index of 1.0 g/10 min and a density of 0.918 g/cm³, exhibiting highly consistent basic performance. The main differentiation lies in the additive formulation, providing precise adaptation solutions for different processing technologies and end-user needs.

This series boasts excellent tensile, impact, puncture, and tear resistance properties. Elmandorf longitudinal tear strength reaches 220g, and its transverse tear strength is as high as 370g. The longitudinal elongation at break is 500%, and the transverse elongation is up to 640%, exhibiting excellent tensile toughness. Under the same protection standards, it can achieve thinner film production while ensuring packaging resistance to tearing, puncture, and low-temperature impact.

Top-tier optical performance, suitable for high-end visual packaging

The uniform and regular molecular structure significantly reduces crystallization defects, resulting in finished films with low haze, high gloss, and clear transparency, free from appearance defects such as crystal points, watermarks, and streaks, and exhibiting excellent film surface flatness. It can be directly used in high-end transparent food packaging, boutique daily chemical packaging, and high-transparency agricultural films—scenarios with stringent requirements for appearance and texture.

Excellent low-temperature heat-sealing and anti-contamination sealing performance

This series features low-temperature initiation sealing, a wide heat-sealing window, high heat-sealing strength, and excellent heat-adhesion performance, making it suitable for high-speed filling and high-speed bag-making production lines. Even with small amounts of contaminants such as grease, powder, and sauces in the sealing area, a strong seal can still be formed, minimizing issues like leakage, bursting, and wrinkling. It is perfectly suited for automated packaging production of food, daily chemicals, and powder materials.

Highly versatile, with stable processing and high compatibility

This Exceed™ 1018 series of mLLDPEs exhibits excellent thermal stability, resisting degradation, leaching, and die carbon buildup during high-temperature processing, effectively reducing equipment cleaning frequency and improving production continuity. It is perfectly compatible with mainstream film processing technologies such as blown film, cast film, and multilayer co-extrusion.
